Content Patch Before Wrath of the Lich King |
|
Tuesday, 26 August 2008 |
With the release of Wrath of the Lich King
approaching, we wanted to provide you with some important information.
In preparation for the expansion, we will be issuing a new content
patch in the coming weeks. Much like the patch made available shortly
before The Burning Crusade's release, this content patch is designed to
bridge current game content with that of the expansion and will contain
some exciting changes and additions.
We have outlined some of the larger features scheduled to release with the patch below:
New class spells and talents
Stormwind Harbor
Barbershops in capital cities
Zeppelin towers outside of Orgrimmar and Tirisfal Glades
Two brand-new Arenas featuring challenging new layouts, terrain hazards, and moving obstacles
Guild calendar
Hunter pet skill revamp
New profession: Inscription
As mentioned above, this is not a comprehensive list, just some
of the major highlights. We’ll post the full patch notes as soon as
they’re available. Regarding Inscription, please note that all Burning
Crusade players will be able to select Inscription as one of their two
professions and level up to a skill level of 375 with it. Upon the
release of Wrath of the Lich King, players who purchase and install the
expansion will be able to continue leveling in Inscription and the
other professions beyond 375.

WotLK Beta Scam emails are out |
|
Saturday, 05 July 2008 |
Just a heads up, if you have gotten an invite to beta, ITS A SCAM.
Blizzard has NOT yet sent out any emails for Beta, they only have the
opt-in.
DO NOT click any links or go to sites that will ask you for your username and password in any email pretendin g to be an invite to the beta.
Official response from Blizzard CM:
The email that you received and depicted in that screensho t is a fake/scam.
This is a 'phishing' website, pretendin g to be a Blizzard site asking for your username and password for "log in purposes". Instead, upon entering your informati on here, it will save the informati on and give it to the creators of the fake website, granting them access to your account.
Please be sure to note that we have not started the Wrath of the Lich King beta program for public play, only the opt-in for a chance of winning access to the upcoming beta.

Wrath of the Lich King Beta Opt-In Now Open |
|
Friday, 04 July 2008 |
Today we opened the Wrath of the Lich King Beta Opt-In program, which
gives players a chance to win an invitation to the upcoming Wrath of
the Lich King beta. For The Burning Crusade beta, we randomly invited
players from the entire World of Warcraft community. With the Opt-In,
our goal is to strengthen the beta-testing process by inviting only
those players who have expressed active interest in participating.
Keep in mind that opting in doesn't guarantee
you'll be selected for the beta. And players who've previously been
promised beta access through a promotion or contest (such as by
purchasing the Dell XPS M1730 World of Warcraft Edition notebook) don't
need to worry -- you'll still be entered into the beta automatically
when the time comes.
To opt in to the Wrath of the Lich King beta, visit the Beta Opt-In page.
